What do we do exactly?
The Canadian Friends seek to increase local awareness of Tel Aviv University's excellence in academic and research programs and to provide financial support through fundraising. It also encourages exchanges between professors in Canada and Israel and facilitates a student program for Canadians wishing to study in Israel.

Supporting the world's largest Jewish University
With almost 30,000 students, nearly 10% new immigrants, and more than 100 departments, TAU is Israel's largest and most comprehensive center of higher learning and the largest Jewish University in the world. Many of Israel's leaders in medicine, technology, law, music, film, and governments are graduates, including Israel's first astronaut.
Both sabras and new immigrants study more than 110 disciplines, from Talmud and Eastern philosophy to human genetics and bioinformatics. And Jewish students from four continents and nearly 50 countries have attended TAU, through our Lowy School for Overseas Students.
TAU is a leader in narrowing the gap between rich and poor in Israel by providing social programs that give qualified students from disadvantaged backgrounds the financial and academic support to succeed.
Jewish life thrives at TAU. Its fast-growing Hillel Program offers dynamic Jewish programming to both local and overseas students. Stimulating student programs bring Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox thinkers together at the university while TAU's innovative e-learning program brings Jewish learning and culture to Jews worldwide.
