Canadian Friends of TAU hosts party for 2009 Toronto International Film Festival
We recently hosted a party for the TAU’s Department of Film and Television. As part of Tel Aviv’s centennial celebrations, TAU had a total of seventeen films selected for the Toronto International Film Festival. The party took place at media mogul Moses Znaimer’s newly opened Museum of Television which houses the largest collection of vintage television sets in the world. Guest of honour was Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai who spoke about the importance of supporting Israeli film makers and culture in light of the fact that Tel Aviv’s high profile in the film festival had been met with opposition by the international film community. The Student Academy Award-nominated film Dark Night by former TAU student Leonard Prudovsky was screened at the event. It was a great success and friends of TAU and local media got to mingle with Israel’s film community.
